چکیده

Trilobites inhabited all environments of Paleozoic seas, ranging from estuaries to continental slopes, and were globally distributed. Although their functional morphology phylogenetic relations are established by well-preserved body fossils, the behavior trilobites has received less attention. Three well-known trace fossils interpreted be produced trilobitomorphs when preserved in rocks, Rusophycus (a resting trace), Cruziana furrowing Diplichnites locomotion trace). Those unveil some aspects trilobite behavior, but they not investigated test paleoecologic strategies based on morphometric parameters. This study uses access storm-dominated shallow marine deposits Pimenteira Cabeças formations (Middle Upper Devonian, Parnaíba Basin, Brazil). It was conducted a detailed analysis specimens section that represents transition between (Parnaíba Basin). The width length measured, statistical analyses performed understand population characteristics. Relatively small-sized dominant such deposits, suggesting dominance young tracemakers inferred r-strategist populations. here reported multiple- assemblage reveals population, tiers relationship (cross-cutting epistratal shallow-tier as Bergaueria , Palaeophycus Protopaleodictyon ) indicate deep . main reason for those burrowing activities substrate might protection during ecdysis. Thus, random distribution, lack hunting evidence, depth suggest molting activity trigger production storm-influenced beds Formation, probably calmoniids or homalonotids.

Carbonate Buildups in the Pernambuco Basin, NE Brazil.

The Pernambuco Basin represents one of the most prominent regions for deep water oil and gas exploration off the Brazilian coast. This study aims to identify and describe the occurrence of carbonate buildups in the offshore regions of the basin. The study was based on an analysis of a set of 143 2D time-migrated seismic sections that cover the offshore region of the Pernambuco Basin. An interpr...

The zooplankton biodiversity of some freshwater environments in Parnaíba basin (Piauí, Northeastern Brazil).

The plankton fauna of the state of Piauí, Northeastern Brazil, especially in the Parnaíba basin, is still poorly known; the results of most studies of the subject have not been published and can only be found in grey literature (unpublished scientific works), such as course completion work and consulting reports. Thus, this paper presents data from samples taken recently from different water bo...

Composition and structure of fish assemblage from Passa Cinco stream, Corumbataí river sub-basin, SP, Brazil.

The aim of this work was to determine the composition of the fish assemblage of Passa Cinco stream and verify changes in their structure on the altitudinal gradient. Six samples were performed at five different sites in Passa Cinco stream (from the headwater, at order two, to its mouth, at order six), using an electric fishery equipment and gill nets in May, July, September and November of 2005...

Insectivory in Potamotrygon signata (Chondrichthyes: Potamotrygonidae), an endemic freshwater stingray from the Parnaíba River basin, northeastern Brazil.

Potamotrygon signata is an endemic freshwater stingray species in the Parnaíba River basin, Brazil. After its original description, only citations in systematic lists were recorded in the literature and the biology of the species remains unknown, including the feeding habits. The aim of this study is to characterize the overall diet of P. signata based on analysing stomach contents and to provi...

Fish-assemblage structure of the Corumbatai river basin, São Paulo State, Brazil: characterization and anthropogenic disturbances.

The Corumbataí river is one of the main tributaries of the right margin of the Piracicaba river, itself a tributary of Tietê river. The Corumbataí is part of the Paraná river basin and is regionally important not only because of its good-quality water but also because the local landscape has unique features. This study aimed to characterize the fish assemblage of the Corumbataí in order to prov...
